Zeh L’Zeh was founded to address two urgent and interconnected challenges: the waste of high-quality food and the growing number of families struggling to afford basic meals. Each week, large quantities of fresh, prepared food from local stores, bakeries, caterers, and institutions go unused. Zeh L’Zeh ensures that this food reaches families who need it most—efficiently, respectfully, and with dignity.
Today, Zeh L’Zeh rescues high-quality surplus food and delivers it directly to families through a structured, real-time system designed to preserve privacy and choice.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple and focused: save food from waste and place it on tables.
Each week, Zeh L’Zeh serves over 300 families—representing more than 1,500 individuals—through a private, real-time online ordering system that allows families to select food they can actually use.
More than a food program, Zeh L’Zeh is a reliable source of stability—ensuring that no family faces food insecurity alone.
How It Works
Zeh L’Zeh partners with over 50 stores, mosdos, simchas, caterers, bakeries, and institutions, creating a dependable pipeline of surplus food ready to be rescued before it is discarded.
A dedicated volunteer driver network operates day and night—often on short notice—to collect and deliver food whenever it becomes available.
All rescued food is sorted and checked for freshness, labeled and repackaged into high-quality containers, and uploaded into a real-time inventory system. Families place individualized orders, and each package is prepared and scheduled for efficient pickup—ensuring accuracy, usability, and dignity at every step.

Zeh L’Zeh operates at a significant and consistent scale:
- 125+ pickups weekly
- 540+ pickups monthly
- 6,500+ pickups annually
This nonstop rescue network redirects thousands of pounds of fresh food each week from landfills to families in need.

From pre–Yom Tov preparation to post–Yom Tov recovery, Zeh L’Zeh ensures continuous access to food—bringing stability during the times families need it most.
